The Assessment and Accountability Department (A&A) maintains all student records for current and former students, maintains assessment data, and generates the data reports that keep the district in compliance with No Child Left Behind and other Federal and State-reporting requirements.
The A&A Department is responsible for the administration of all state required assessments and the distribution of
results. The Department produces the Annual Report Cards to the Public for each school site and the District.
The Report Card data:
- assesses how well NSBSD students meet the State’s Performance Standards
- provides a comparison to the rest of the students in Alaska
- supports instruction in NSBSD classrooms
- guides school improvement plans
The A&A Department provides data and data analysis assistance to other NSBSD departments for multiple grant and other program requirements. Technical assistance is provided to all sites in the development of School Improvement Plans. The development of the District Improvement Plan is facilitated through the A&A Department.
